Happy Friday, all! Well, it's officially autumn as of September 22nd. The air is crisper and mums are dotting porch steps everywhere. Other years I tended to jump the gun, but I think I'm justified in my fall mania at this point. :)
Here's a roundup of favorite autumnal activites, along with a smattering of quotes. Hope you enjoy!
Take Fido for a woodland walk. Beautiful any time of year, but especially recommended in fall. And no danger of your furry friend overheating like there is in summer.
I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees. ~Henry David Thoreau
Open up your windows for a few minutes to let in that lovely, crisp air
Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall. ~F. Scott Fitzgerald
Put your favorite albums on the record player
Light some candles (scented or just for looks!) Appreciate their flickering flames and golden glow.
Keep a dish of fall mix (peanuts + candy corn) on the counter. This salty/sweet combination is perfection. Just try to stop eating it. ;)
Layer some warm tones into your home decor, and add a pumpkin here or there.
Treat yourself to something cozy in cashmere or wool.
Whip up a golden latte with turmeric and other spices to warm yourself from the inside out.
Bake a crisp or crumble with seasonal fruit. If you want to be really adventurous, try this mock apple crisp made from zucchini!
Watch the leaves flutter down from the trees.
Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn. ~Elizabeth Lawrence
