Day 11 of The 12 Cookies of Christmas
Back in August, I had shared my new recipe for "Mild-Mannered Monster Cookies," so named because they are a toned-down, somewhat healthier version of the popular M&M behemoths. For Christmas, I'm going to take them down one more notch and make them mini. (Strange to say that, I know, as I'm usually in favor of kicking it up a notch, like Emeril.) If these were not made smaller, however, they could easily overwhelm the other cookies on a cookie platter. It's all in the proportions.
Proposed modifications
A scantier scoop
Use a 1" cookie scoop to measure out the dough, instead of an ice cream scoop.
Change the chocolate
Substitute white chocolate chips for the semisweet, and nix the decorative drizzle.
And that's it! What a simple way to go from mega to mini! I think these cookies are a good choice for the holidays too, with their subtle Christmas colors of red cranberries and white chocolate.
One more cookie left! Whatever will I choose to bake? Something with butter.. though that doesn't give much away, does it? Looks like you'll have to endure a cookie cliffhanger! Hehe.
'Til next time,
Eva
