Honoring Patriot Day

For the seventeenth anniversary of 9/11, I wanted to share a patriotic song to honor this tragic day in U.S. history. We can be so proud of all that our country has endured over the years. Despite losses and hardships, the U.S. continues to be one of the greatest countries in the world.

America is and always will be...

Land where my fathers died Land of the Pilgrim's pride From every mountainside, Let freedom ring!

And so to commemorate this day, I'm sharing my arrangement of "My Country 'Tis of Thee."

Another piece I highly recommend is "I'll Be Here" from the off-Broadway musical, Ordinary Days. Audra McDonald sang a lovely rendition of this on her album Go Back Home. Click here to listen. It takes a while to realize the song is about September 11th, but once the connection is made, the lyrics become all the more meaningful.

'Til next time,

Eva
